Special Projects

Throughout the year, Scottish Youth Theatre is involved in special projects which are either initiated by the youth theatre in partnership with other organisations or in response to outside enquiries.

These projects could be anything from a one off workshop to a large scale performance project.  Scottish Youth Theatre also provides a variety of bespoke specialist training for a number of different arts and education organisations.

Over the years Scottish Youth Theatre's 'Special Projects' has seen the company managing the delivery of many arts/education projects for different local authorities and national organisations.

Whatever your idea or proposal, we are interested in hearing it!

Most recently we have worked with
  • Glasgow City Council to deliver a city wide education project for the Youth Music Initiative.  The project culminated in a production of Gerry Mulgrew's 'Tall Tales & Small Wonders' at the Fruitmarket Theatre in Glasgow
  • Culture and Sport (Glasgow) to deliver their Kool Kids project with schools in North Glasgow that focused on different themes around healthy living.
  • National Library of Scotland to develop a workshop programme and create a new web based teaching aid for schools that would support their recent 'Heroes' exhibition.
  • ChildLine to create and deliver a promotional DVD for their anti bullying service aimed at young males
  • NCH Drama Project working with 'at risk young people' in Inverclyde over longer term project that focused on personal and social development.
  • Shakespeare Youth Festival supporting new youth led companies to stage their first over production of an abridged Shakespeare.
  • Southbank Centre in London on their nationwide project 'Operation Soapbox' that resulted in an exhibition about young people's voices and opinions from across the UK
  • Brechin Arts Festival to promote and celebrate youth arts in the run up to the local festival.
And many more
